Dr. Ahmed has around ten years of medical experience in Gastroenterology. Dr. Ahmed obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Khartoum, Sudan in 2008. After completing his foundation and core training he pursued a clinical Transplant hepatology fellowship from 2014 to 2015. Upon completion of his fellowship, he underwent specialty training in Gastroenterology, General internal Medicine & Hepatology at Health Education England, United Kingdon, working across various Yorkshire and the Humber hospitals such as Hull Royal Infirmary, Northern General Hospital, Barnsley Hospital, Doncaster Royal Infirmary, and St James's University Hospital from 2015 till 2021. Upon completion of his training, Dr. Ahmed was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Gastroenterology. Subsequently, he served as a Clinical Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Endoscopy Fellow at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 2021 till 2022.
Dr. Ahmed was elected as a Member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2014. Furthermore, he was awarded Fellow of the European Section & Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2022, and both Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 2023.
Prior to joining Healthpoint, Dr. Ahmed worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Barnsley Hospital, United Kingdom.

Management of conditions affecting the digestive system including common issues like stomach pain, bloating, and gastric reflux to more complex issues such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and metabolic associated fatty liver disease. In addition to the diagnosis and management of ailments like diarrhea, constipation, viral and autoimmune hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, bile duct stones, strictures, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, pancreatic diseases, esophageal disorders, Coeliac disease, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, as well as hepatobiliary and pancreatic endoscopy.
