Dr. Leggate, who joined Healthpoint in December 2023, brings an extensive 13-year background in anesthesia. His educational journey commenced at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB/ChB) degree in 2002. From 2010 to 2015, he completed postgraduate training in Anesthetics at NHS Grampian, working at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Dr. Leggate received the CCT from the General Medical Council, UK.
Before joining Healthpoint, Dr. Leggate served as a Consultant Anesthesiologist at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, NHS Grampian UK, specializing in pre-operative medicine, enhanced recovery, and medical education. His diverse professional background includes previous roles in emergency medicine in the UK and intensive care medicine in Australia. Additionally, he spent a year contributing to e-learning for healthcare with the UK Department of Health and played integral roles with the University of Aberdeen Medical School, primarily focusing on the clinical digital aspects of the curriculum. Dr. Leggate’s expertise extends to a six-year tenure as a consultant anesthetist in Inverness, UK, where he developed a special interest in trauma and emergency work.
Specializing in various anesthetic areas such as orthopedic and trauma anesthesia, anesthesia for robotic-assisted surgery, regional anesthesia, anesthesia for general surgery, urology, and plastics, Dr. Leggate has a comprehensive skill set.
As part of his professional recognition and academic achievement, Dr. Leggate achieved the prestigious status of becoming a Fellow of the College of Anesthesiologists of Ireland in 2013. The following year, in 2014, he successfully obtained a postgraduate certificate in Medical Education from the University of Aberdeen.
