Dr. Menendez has over 18 years of experience in orthopedic surgery and traumatology.
He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Spain, in 2004. Following this, he pursued further specialty training in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at Complejo Hospitalario Universitario De Toledo, Spain, from 2006 to 2011. Upon completion of his training, he was awarded the Specialty Certificate in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology in 2012 by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports, Spain.
Apart from his clinical experience, Dr. Menendez also served as a University Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX), Spain, from 2014 to 2023.
Prior to joining Healthpoint, Dr. Menendez worked at several prestigious institutions, including the Mayo Clinic and University College London Hospital, as a visiting consultant. He also served at Hospital Universitario Central de la Cruz Roja in Madrid, Spain, and as the Head of the Shoulder Unit at Clinica Universidad de Navarra, the top-ranked Spanish private hospital with the best reputation, and one of the world’s top 100 hospitals in 2022.
Dr. Menendez’s scope of practice includes the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, such as fractures, joint replacements, sports injuries and other related conditions affecting bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. He also specializes in managing degenerative disorders, infectious diseases and deformities.
Dr. Menendez specializes in shoulder, knee, and sports medicine, with expertise in arthroscopy and joint replacement. He is skilled in performing rotator cuff repairs, addressing shoulder instability and treating meniscal tears. He also performs shoulder joint replacements, including total and reverse shoulder arthroplasty and is an expert in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
