Biography
Dr. Abou Zahr is a Consultant in Rheumatology with more than seven years’ experience in the U.S. His special interest is in musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
He earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed his internal medicine residency at a Johns Hopkins-affiliated hospital in Baltimore where he worked with several world-renowned rheumatologists. He then completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, in Texas, before joining the faculty at the University of Minnesota as an Assistant Professor, where he introduced musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Other career highlights include serving as Director for Rheumatology Training, at Hennepin County Medical Center; and Director of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Training, for the University of Minnesota Rheumatology Fellowship program.
Dr. Abou Zahr also chairs two national Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses in the U.S. covering musculoskeletal ultrasound.
