An intragastric balloon, also called a gastric balloon, is a temporary weight loss treatment. A clinician places it into the stomach through the mouth using an endoscope, then inflates it. The balloon takes up space so you may feel full after eating less. Placement involves no abdominal incisions or removal of stomach tissue.
