Dr. Arshad has 17 years of experience in orthopedic surgery, specializing in hand and wrist surgery.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He completed his Specialty Training Program in Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery through Health Education England - North West, UK, and earned his Master of Science in Hand Surgery from the University of Manchester, UK.
Dr. Arshad is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (FRCS Tr&Orth) and holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Medical Education.
Dr. Arshad has been actively involved in the orthopedic field as a member of the Orthopedics Specialty Training Committee in the UK and as the FRCS Teaching Co-ordinator for the North-West Training Program. He has also served as the Specialty Training Education Lead for the North-West Training Program and as a Senior Honorary Associate Lecturer at Edge Hill University, UK.
Prior to joining Healthpoint, Dr. Arshad worked as a Consultant Orthopedic Hand and Upper Limb Surgeon with the NHS Oldham Care Organization Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, and as a Consultant Orthopedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon with Circle Health (The Highfield and Alexandra Hospitals) and Ramsay Health Care, both in the UK.
Dr. Arshad’s scope of practice includes all conditions and concerns pertaining to orthopedic hand and wrist surgery.
Dr. Arshad's expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions and treatments related to the hand and wrist. This includes arthritis of the hand and wrist, such as thumb CMCJ replacement, IPJ replacements and fusion procedures, as well as wrist replacement and fusion procedures. He also specializes in carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, De Quervain's tenosynovitis and Dupuytren’s contracture. His skills extend to managing fractures of the hand and wrist, ganglion cysts, and other benign swellings, as well as performing hand and wrist ligament and tendon repair and reconstruction. Additionally, Dr. Arshad addresses hand and wrist injuries, peripheral neuropathies, repetitive strain injuries and soft tissue injuries. His treatments include splinting, tendonitis management, tennis and golfer’s elbow, trigger finger treatment (stenosing tenosynovitis) and wrist arthroscopy.
