Dr Seif Sawalha is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with 18 years’ experience in the United Kingdom (UK). He specialises in elbow surgery.
Dr Sawalha has practiced as a consultant upper limb orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in elbow surgery in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK for several years before relocating to the UAE in 2022. He treats all aspect of adult and adolescent elbow problems and injuries.
Dr Sawalha graduated from the University of Jordan before moving to the UK to start his training in orthopaedic surgery. He completed his basic surgical training in London, Liverpool and the South-West regions and then started his higher surgical training in London and the Eastern regions. He subsequently joined a national training programme in trauma and orthopaedic surgery on the Liverpool rotation, during which he trained in several elbow and shoulder units including The Royal Liverpool University Hospital. He then completed a unique advanced elbow surgery fellowship at the world-renowned Wrightington Hospital in the UK with Professor Adam Watts.
Dr Sawalha has a strong track record in research with over 50 peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and posters in British and European conferences. He regularly participates in specialist international elbow meetings. He is a tutor for the elbow module on the University of Edinburgh online Master’s degree course and is invited to review submitted research on elbow topics for the prestigious Bone and Joint Journal.
