Dr. Hassan is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon with 20 years of clinical expertise in pediatric orthopedics, limb lengthening, deformity correction, and complex reconstructive surgery. He brings extensive experience in managing both pediatric and adult orthopedic conditions, with a strong focus on complex lower limb deformities, trauma, and foot and ankle disorders.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Cairo University, Egypt, and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology training at Cairo University Hospitals. Dr. Hassan pursued advanced subspecialty training through prestigious international fellowships, including Fellowships in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pennsylvania, USA, and Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, USA. He also completed a Fellowship in Limb Lengthening and Complex Reconstruction at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, USA.
Dr. Hassan has held senior clinical and academic positions throughout his career. Prior to joining Healthpoint, he served as Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon at Khoula Hospital under the Ministry of Health in Oman, alongside his role as Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Cairo University, Egypt. He is an active member of several international professional societies and has been recognized for excellence in pediatric orthopedic research and education through multiple international awards.
Dr. Hassan’s scope of practice at Healthpoint includes pediatric orthopedics, limb lengthening, deformity correction and complex reconstruction for children and adults, foot and ankle surgery for children and adults, and orthopedic trauma management across all age groups.
Dr. Hassan specializes in pediatric hip disorders such as developmental dysplasia of the hip and Perthes disease, congenital lower limb deformities including fibular hemimelia, tibial hemimelia, and congenital femoral deficiency, limb lengthening using internal magnetic nails and external fixators, correction of limb deformities such as bowlegs and knock knees, management of clubfoot, flatfoot, high-arched foot, bunions, ankle arthritis, and advanced external fixation techniques including Ilizarov and hexapod systems for post-traumatic and post-infection bone reconstruction.
