Dr. Salama has more than 25 years of experience in Orthopedic Surgery, with extensive expertise in shoulder conditions.
Dr. Salama possesses extensive expertise in diagnosis and surgical management of shoulder and upper limb conditions, with a particular focus on shoulder sports injuries and shoulder replacement. He is highly experienced in both arthroscopic and open surgical techniques, including complex reconstructive procedures and shoulder replacement surgery.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from Alexandria University, Egypt, and completed his internship at Alexandria University Hospitals, Egypt. He subsequently completed his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery through the General Medical Council, United Kingdom, and Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Surgery of Trauma from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. He also completed the Intercollegiate Specialty Examination in Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery.
Throughout his career, Dr. Salama has contributed to advancing orthopedic surgical practice through clinical research and academic publications. He is a contributing author to two chapters in the Oxford Textbook of Orthopedics, a globally respected reference in the field. He has also published extensively in peer-reviewed surgical journals, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous innovation. In addition, he has published work describing a surgical technique, further contributing to the advancement of surgical practice in his field.
Prior to joining Healthpoint, Dr. Salama served as Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon and Head of Surgery at Czech Rehabilitation Hospital, Future Horizon, Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he provided specialized orthopedic surgical care.
