Dr. Rajasekaran joined Healthpoint in 2023 as a Consultant Anesthesiologist. He obtained his MBBS from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, India in 1995. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) in 2004 and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FFPMRCA) in 2008.
Prior to joining Healthpoint Dr. Rajasekaran worked as a Consultant in Anesthesia and Pain Management at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City in Abu Dhabi. His previously held other consultant posts at UK hospitals including University College London Hospital and Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Trust. He began his career as a Senior House Officer (Junior Resident) at the Sacred Heart Leprosy Centre, Kumbakonam, India.
Dr. Rajasekaran’s sub-specialist area of interest is musculoskeletal pain management. He conducts regular sessions in anesthesia for major colorectal cancer surgery and emergency surgery.
Dr. Rajasekaran has been Secretary of the Leo club and Red Cross and organized multiple rural health camps and blood donation camps.
He was the hospital lead for the UK’s MTI (Medical Training Initiative) fellow recruitment and training. This program was under the auspices of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and helped the hospital recruit overseas-trained doctors.
