Dr. Bashaer Gheyath has nine years of medical experience, including six years of specialized expertise in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Dr. Gheyath earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, and Bachelor of Obstetrics (MBBS, BAO (Hons)) from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2014. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Educational Foundation in 2019, followed by a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at the University of California in 2022. She is American Board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Gheyath achieved the Harvard Medical School Global Clinical Research Scholar Certification in 2016 and was honored with the Cleveland Clinic Educational Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award in 2018.
Before joining Healthpoint, Dr. Gheyath worked as a Cardiovascular Imaging Fellow at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California, where she obtained COCATS Level 3 certification in the performance and interpretation of cardiac MRI and CT.
Dr. Gheyath’s scope of practice emphasizes the performance and interpretation of cardiovascular MRI, including stress cardiovascular MRI. She has a particular interest in microvascular disease, women’s heart health, and the role of cardiovascular MRI in these areas.
Her expertise covers general cardiology, including echocardiography, and myocardial perfusion imaging. Dr. Gheyath is proficient in managing cardiovascular disease across outpatient, inpatient, and intensive care settings, and performing both transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.
