Dr. Borja Merry Del Val has over 20 years of experience in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine.
Dr. Merry Del Val obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the Complutense University of Madrid, in 2002. He then went on to complete his residency in Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology at Puerta de Hierro University Hospital in Madrid, Spain, in 2005. Furthering his medical expertise, he later pursued specialized training in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and musculoskeletal injuries, with a focus on knee surgery.
Dr. Merry Del Val has been a Fellow of the European Board of Orthopedics and Traumatology (FEBOT) since 2015. In 2019, he became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK. He is also a recipient of an award from the Spanish Joint Arthroscopy Association and the Spanish Knee Society for his work on meniscus sutures. In 2023, he received the “Surgeon of Excellence” accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), recognizing his commitment to delivering the highest standards of surgical care.
Dr. Merry Del Val serves as a faculty member of the European Arthroscopy Fellowship program and is a teaching partner of the Faculty of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Madrid. In addition, he is also a fellowship examiner and has mentored international fellows through the European Federation of Orthopedics and Traumatology (EFORT) travelling fellowship programs.
Prior to joining Healthpoint, Dr. Merry Del Val worked at Puerta de Hierro University Hospital in Madrid, Spain, where he was an integral member of the Sports Medicine Department.
