Dr. Hazlyna has more than 18 years of experience in the cardiovascular field.
She earned a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMedSci) in 2000 and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2002 from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Dr. Hazlyna has recently been awarded the Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians, London, in recognition of her extensive experience and contributions to clinical cardiology, education and research. Her experience in cardiology has been garnered in reputable hospitals in the United Kingdom, including Sheffield Teaching Hospitals where she obtained her CCT in Cardiology, as well as post fellowship in Cardiac MRI at Oxford CMR, John Radcliffe Hospitals, Oxford. She also spent two years in the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Additionally, Dr. Hazlyna has authored several publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and has actively participated in cardiology research and audit activities. Additionally, she has been a committee member of the British Society of Cardiac MR (BSCMR) Heart Failure Research Task Force. She is also involved in various courses and seminars, most notably the well-established British Society-accredited Transoesophageal (TOE) exam preparation course in Nottingham, UK.
Prior to joining Healthpoint, Dr. Hazlyna served as a Consultant Cardiologist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, based at the Trent Cardiac Centre, a large tertiary cardiac facility.
Her scope of practice includes general cardiology, covering coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias and cardiomyopathy, as well as pre-and peri-operative cardiology assessments. She is proficient in diagnostic cardiology and advanced echocardiography, including transthoracic, transoesophageal (TOE), stress echocardiogram and peri-procedural TOE. Her expertise also extends to cardiac MRI, including stress perfusion studies and cardiomyopathy assessment, as well as cardiac CT and general medicine.
