Dr. Carpenter joined Healthpoint as a Consultant Cardiologist in April 2023. He obtained his MBBS degree from the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals with a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience from the University of London. His higher research degree was awarded from Imperial College, London.
Dr. Carpenter previously worked in the UK for 11 years as a consultant cardiologist, initially at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and then at University Hospitals, Dorset.
Dr. Carpenter has extensive experience in cross-sectional cardiac imaging (cardiac CT and MRI). He is a European (EACVI) certified Level 3 practitioner in Cardiac CT as well as holding both Level 3 European (EACVI) and US (SCMR) certification in Cardiac MRI Level 3. He is also experienced in additional specialist imaging, including transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and stress echo and non-invasive assessment (such as treadmill testing and Holter analysis) used to evaluate heart function and identify potential cardiac problems.
Dr. Carpenter was awarded the Imperial College NHLI Thesis
Prize for Best Clinical Thesis in June 2012, the Best Poster Presentation at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) Postgraduate Research Day 18th June 2009, the Leeds CMR Course Prize 2006, the Boston Scientific Award for Outstanding Case Presentation - October 2006, the Goldberg-Schachman scholarship for his BSc degree course, the
Dale Award for BSc Research Project and the Charles Forster Certificate of Merit awarded for Cardiology. He holds British Society of Echocardiography accreditation for Adult Transthoracic Echocardiography.
