Dr. Mohamed Mourad has more than 20 years of experience in Anesthesia, Surgical Intensive Care, and Pain Management.
Dr. Mourad possesses extensive expertise in providing comprehensive anesthesia and perioperative care across a wide range of surgical procedures and patient groups. His expertise includes general and regional anesthesia, sedation, pre-operative assessment, advanced airway management, critical care and resuscitation, as well as the management of acute and chronic pain.
He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from Cairo University, Egypt, where he also completed his internship at Cairo University Hospitals. He subsequently completed specialist training in Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Pain Management at Cairo University, followed by a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and a Basic Fellowship in Pain Management at Daradia Pain Hospital, India.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mourad has contributed to clinical leadership and service development, including establishing clinical protocols for tertiary-level hospitals in Bahrain and the UAE. He received the First Prize for Audit Presentation at the Sylvester O’Halloran Symposium in Ireland. He has also authored a course on moderate sedation for non-anaesthesiologists with hospital privilege certification and has contributed to peer-reviewed publications.
Prior to joining Healthpoint, Dr. Mourad served as Consultant in Anesthesia and Lead of the Pain Program at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Dr. Mourad’s scope of practice at Healthpoint includes anesthesia and surgical intensive care, as well as pain management.
Dr. Mourad’s expertise includes general anesthesia for elective and emergency surgical procedures across all age groups, regional anesthesia including peripheral nerve blocks, epidural and spinal anesthesia, and conscious sedation for diagnostic imaging, endoscopic, and minor surgical procedures. He is experienced in pre-operative assessment and optimization of high-risk patients with complex medical conditions, as well as advanced airway management including video laryngoscopy and fiberoptic intubation. His critical care expertise includes advanced life support, stabilization of critically ill patients, and management of acute respiratory and hemodynamic instability. He also specializes in acute and chronic pain management, including spine and back pain, joint and musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, headache and facial pain, cancer-related pain, and related interventional pain procedures.
