Dr. Al-Hadad is a Consultant in Bariatric and General Surgery and the Medical Director of Healthpoint. He also heads the Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery Centre of Excellence, which collaborates with the Imperial College of London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi, part of the M42 group. Dr. Al-Hadad is distinguished as a Master Surgeon by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).
A graduate of the University of Baghdad’s College of Medicine, Dr. Al-Hadad is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He also holds a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Dr. Al-Hadad has extensive experience in advanced laparoscopic, bariatric and upper gastrointestinal surgery. He has directed and instructed more than 250 courses covering basic and advanced laparoscopy, bariatrics and trauma management, both in the UAE and internationally. For many years, he sat on the advisory board for UAE University’s general surgery residency program. His research on bariatric surgery, endoscopy and trauma management has been published in peer-reviewed journals many times.
He is an Associate Editor of the scientific journal Obesity Surgery. Dr. Al-Hadad is also an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Medical School of Khalifa University for Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
He is a member of the Executive Board of the IFSO MENA chapter of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), as well as a member of the Executive Board of the main IFSO. Dr. Al-Hadad is the current President of the Pan Arab Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (PASMBS).
